Hog father’s Old Fashioned BBQ, Washington, PA
I had the opportunity to attend an NRA gathering this weekend. I’ve been to many of these events this summer, as my girlfriend is currently running for State Senate in Washington County. Most of these meetings have average food, but this time, something was different.
As I stood in line waiting my turn at the buffet, I noticed people walking by with full plates of barbecue. These diners walked hurriedly to their tables with grins on their faces. I finally reached the full chafers and realized that we would be dining on quality food. There were plump grilled chicken breasts, brisket, baked beans, braised pork, and homemade macaroni and cheese.
I sampled the BBQ and was pleasantly surprised- everything was tasty, seasoned, and cooked properly. The chicken was lean, as was the brisket. The pork was tender and smoky. Although the proteins were perfectly delicious, my favorite by far was the creamy white-cheddar mac & cheese. Also served with dinner were fresh rolls with butter, and a mixed greens salad.
I haven’t been to Hog father’s physical location in Washington, PA yet, but will surely make my way there soon to sample more of their delicious barbeque.
